  • Lecture featuring Bobby McAlpine

Bobby speaks poignantly from his head and heart about our personal search for home — what he sees as the quest to match our physical surroundings with that of our inner beauty.  Armed with the perspective of a southerner and an arsenal of architectural experience, he reveals his thoughts on grace, the human condition, tenderness of place and what we know to be true in our lives, all based on his body of work created over the last 30 years. Capital Region Emmy Award-Winning and Baltimore Magazine’s “Best News Anchor”, Jennifer Gilbert of Fox 45 News, will emcee the lecture.

2013 Honorary Guest

Dorothy Hamill

At the age of nineteen, figure skater Dorothy Hamill won her Gold Medal at the 1976 Winter Games in Innsbruck and captured our imaginations. Following her win at the 1976 Olympic Games, Dorothy went on to win the World Championship title. As a professional, Dorothy has skated in many productions, including 8 years with the Ice Capades, the company she helped bring to preeminence. Dorothy has produced and starred in her own touring productions and won an Emmy for her starring role in “Romeo and Juliet.” Dorothy was inducted into the Olympic Hall of Fame and the Figure Skating Hall of Fame.

In addition to her many talents, Dorothy is also an accomplished author. She released her memoir entitled, “A Skating Life: My Story”, from Hyperion Publishing, which made the NY Times Best Seller List.

We are genuinely honored to have Dorothy serve as our Honorary Guest.

TIPS FROM THE PROS

Don’t be afraid to ASK QUESTIONS!

When you are visiting a show, asking questions will help you not just buy but also learn from the experts. Reputable dealers are willing and happy to educate consumers about their areas of expertise, and many have written articles and papers to assist buyers in understanding specific collecting fields.
